Mairwen Jones is the guest speaker at this year’s World Book Day Lecture on Wednesday, 5 March, at the Pierhead Building, Cardiff Bay.

She will take as her starting point research published by Beaufort in 2013 into the reading and book-buying habits of Welsh speakers, which demonstrated that readers in Wales are currently reading more frequently than was the case in previous years.

“With recent research showing that the people of Wales are reading more than ever, it seems both appropriate and necessary to ask what, exactly, people are reading – and why? And what will they want to read in the future, if reading still forms part of their leisure pursuits?”

World Book Day 2014 will be held on Thursday 6 March. Find out more at www.readingwales.org.uk or Facebook Diwrnod y Llyfr / World Book Day and Twitter DYLLcymWBDwales #dathludarllen/#lovetoread
